Suitable for all levels of experience, this course concentrates on the needs of the actor, ensuring that their performance remains centred and intact, amidst the plethora of lights, sounds, cameras, etc.
MORNING
The day starts with a gentle physical work-out to improve flexibility and posture.
This is followed by vocal training sessions to improve breathing and free the voice.
The rest of the morning is given over to role play and character construction through improvisation
AFTERNOON
Each afternoon is devoted to practical classes in acting for stage and screen.
Acting for television can be very different to theatre. What works on screen may not work on stage. Using text by Shakespeare and contemporary writers we explore the different methods of characterisation and interpretation required for stage and screen presentation. These classes teach you how to alter your approach when working for either stage or television.
EVENING
London is a hive of activity with a vast array of theatres, restaurants, pubs, clubs,to suit all tastes. Its the perfect setting for you to let your hair down and just enjoy life. It can also be the perfect backdrop to just relax and talk about your fears, hopes, aims and ambitions with fellow students and members of the teaching staff. Participants are free each evening to enjoy all that London has to offer.
